A nice tool to collect diagnostics from FAS Storage systems but also:
• Windows 2003 and 2008 hosts
• VMware ESX hosts (excluding i variants)
• Linux hosts with kernel 2.6
• Solaris hosts
• AIX hosts
• HP-UX 11i hosts
• Brocade switches
• McData switches (EOS, EOSn)
• Cisco switches (IOS, NXOS and SANOS)
• QLogic switches
Use the following command line to collect data from FAS storage systems:
c:\> nsanity ontap://root:*@storage1 This command will prompt for the root password, the * can be replaced with the root password in clear text (which is not recommended)
Use the extract option to get the information split up in multiple files and directories:
c:\> nsanity –x zipfilename.gz
